A gorgeous, Gem quality, solid Black Crystal Opal from Lightning Ridge with a high quality finishing polish.
This is a beautiful gem from the Andreou Family Heritage Collection. It has a unique history having had the back of the Gem “blackened” ready for setting to darken the stone by Opal Patriarch Tony Andreou Decades ago and we have not had the heart to remove it.
Displaying blue and green colouration in flag and chaff patterns.
Cut to a highly desirable oval cabochon. A great size to make a large ring or pendant.
