A gorgeous Dark Opal from the Mintabie mines in South Australia.
Mintabie and it’s opal fields were shut down over 4 years ago, as a direct result this material is becoming increasingly rare!
This stone displays vibrant orange, red, green and blue colouration in flag and pinfire patterns.
Cut to a freeform oval shape.

Mystery dip lovely surprise
I treated myself to an opal ring and thought, why not pay a little more for the mystery dip. The entire parcel took a week to arrive in the UK which is pretty fast. The ring is perfection, the opal has reds and blues; and the mystery dip what can I say. A little parcel of rough opal and a large, beautiful Queensland tribal stone, polished and showing all the colours. I am now looking for a silversmith to put it in a wide bangle.
I am so glad I took the punt. To those of you debating it, go for it, you never know what you may find.
